Can you explain the difference between Hong Kong and British Hong Kong?



After the handover in 1997, Hong Kong became a Special Administrative Region (SAR) of China under  "one country, two systems" framework, which allows Hong Kong to maintain a high degree of autonomy, including its own legal system and capitalist economy. Despite being under Chinese sovereignty, Hong Kong retains many aspects of its British colonial past, including its legal system, language, and governance structure.
